Reuben Bokaba, a second-year student in the ANU Textiles Workshop has won the Chief Minister’s Prize, announced at the opening of ‘Flagging our Future’ by Minister for Arts, Joy Burch.

Bokaba created beautifully executed garments which will go on display in the Legislative Assembly for a year. The project came about through the repurposing of flags from last year’s Centenary of Canberra for new works of art for the Centenary Flag Project exhibition. An initiative by Craft ACT, students created new work to the theme ‘Flagging our Future’ as part of the inaugural DESIGN Canberra Festival.
